BALTIMORE--Relationships drive creative and effective management, and the Church’s mission flourishes when managers operate clearly, transparently, and effectively. This was the theme of a Leadership Roundtable talk given to a full house at the Mid-Atlantic Congress in Baltimore on Thursday.
Jim Lundholm-Eades, director of services and planning for the Leadership Roundtable, engaged nearly 80 participants on what they, as parish leaders, can do to enliven and revitalize their parishes even with dwindling resources.
“Parish managers play many different roles, and it’s important to manage with clear expectations so that parishes operate with efficiency and ease,” Lundhom-Eades told those assembled on the opening day of the Congress. “Maintaining the status quo is making a decision to accept organizational stagnation and ultimately death. Effective management can change the course and lead to a more vibrant, life-giving experience of Church.”
