Co-chairs Paul Henderson, board member of the Association of Catholic Publishers, and Father John Hurley, executive director of the Archdiocese of Baltimore Department of Evangelization welcomed the support and participation of the Leadership Roundtable in the inaugural Mid-Atlantic Congress for Pastoral Leadership (MAC).
This new annual conference, to be held Thursday afternoon March 8, 2012, through Saturday afternoon March 10 at the Hilton Hotel in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, focuses on the needs of pastoral leaders amidst the challenges of a growing, changing Church at the parish, diocesan and national level.
“Our sponsorship of the Mid-Atlantic Congress for Pastoral Leadership—reemphasize our basic vision, to bring together pastoral leaders to promote best practices in stewardship, leadership development and Church management and to serve the Catholic Church in the United States,” commented Michael Brough, director of strategic engagement for the Leadership Roundtable.
The Roundtable’s executive director, Kerry Robinson will lead workshops on creating a culture of stewardship in parishes. Jim Lundholm-Eades, the Roundtable’s director of services and planning will lead workshops on management best practices for Catholic schools and parishes. Brough will focus his sessions on team leadership and performance development for parish and school staffs. Roundtable Council Members: Chuck Zech, Fr David Couturier, Marti Jewell, Mark Mogilka, Sr Terry Rickard and other Roundtable partners are also featured presenters. For a full list of speakers, visit the Mid-Atlantic Congress here.
The Leadership Roundtable is also committed to promoting the participation of a diverse group of parish and school leaders. To that end, the Roundtable is supporting scholarships to cover the registration fee for those who are in financial need due to economic hardship; have experience at a leadership level at a parish or diocese and are committed to continuing to minister at that level, e.g., ministry director, parish business manager, pastoral or finance council member, stewardship director, etc.; and represent diverse cultural backgrounds.
"This partnership with Leadership Roundtable takes us one step closer to engaging a broad cross section of parish leaders at MAC and, hopefully, beyond," Henderson said. Applications, to be submitted by Jan. 6, 2012, are available online here
